onsen obinata no yu

There are quite a few onsen in the area but this one is a little unique. It’s up in the forest at the exit to backcountry of Happo’s famed north face. This outdoor, booking-only private onsen is a little rustic but very charming. With snow all around, bathing in the forest is a truly special experience.

Kurashita No Yu

This local onsen sits just below the Hakuba bridge that crosses the Matsu River on the road from Happo or Wadano across to Iwatake, making it a perfect spot to stop on the way back from Cortina, Norikura, Tsugaike or Iwatake.
