• Reach remote ski resorts: Some of Hakuba’s best slopes like Tsugaike Kogen, Cortina, or Norikura aren’t directly connected by frequent public transport.

• Easier schedule management: Buses and trains are limited, especially in off-peak hours or after dinner. With a car, you can come and go as you please.

• Visit nearby onsens (hot springs), like those in Omachi or Nozawa.
